"General Format"

When I type 9 or more numbers in a cell in this format and press enter, the cell shows what looks like a formula rather than the number I typed.

Perhaps it shows the number in scientific format. Did you try to make column wider?

It does appear as scientific. Widening the column doesn't help. Using the "Fraction" format solves the issue, but it seems that the "General" format should work. Could there be something wrong with my Excel program?
