Hi Jason,
Check in Customize Ribbon if Data is checked
That functionality was introduced here
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/mt465751.aspx, check your version and build.

Hello,
Data was checked. The data is not missing from the tool bar/ribbon, but actually missing from excel options itself where you are to change defauts etc.

Hi, I have the same issue. The "data" option is missing in my Office 2016 prof. pro Excel version and therefore I cannot fix the pivottable settings. It is not in "advanced" or any of the other categories either. Any ideas what happened?
Best regards
Franz

Excel 2016
1. Data under File>option missing.
2. Get External Data > From Web> Basic Advance option missing.
3. Excel updated
I want to go to advance settings under get data from web. While going through couple of suggestions on the internet, someone suggested to turn on legacy data option under file>options>data. This is also missing. Can you please help.
