Protected and Unprotected Sheets

I'm creating a chart and trying to customize a color combination for my theme. When I try to implement the color combination it says that I cannot due to the sheet being protected. I don't know why/how the sheet is protected. So, I'm wondering how to unprotect it without a password and why it's protected.

Is it your workbook or somebody sent it to you?

Anyhow to unprotect the worksheet, right click on any sheet --> unprotect.

Or from review menu--> change group -->unprotect sheets

If it is protected for purpose, it might asks for a password.
