Project planner template documentation

Hi, trying to get a grip on the Project planner template, which creates a Gantt chart by using conditional color formatting. It works based on several defined names (PeriodInPlan, Actual, etc) and then a series of conditional formats.

I want to adapt it to my "real" project task data, and also change to show just colors for Done and Remaining...

Anyway, I struggle to understand how the Name definitions work (not in general, but the way they are used in this template).

Is there some kind of documentation with explanation ("How this is done")?

I am also using the same template for my project. i want to exclude weekends and holidays from coloring i.e, not to consider weekends and holidays as a working days.
