Printing comment/notes from older version of Excel

I've installed a newer version of Excel. Workbooks that existed in the older version will not print what was comments in the older version notes in the newer version at the end of the printed page. I've reviewed the sheet settings they appear to be correct showing Print at bottom, still nothing prints.
