PLEASE HELP!!! Creating a pop up calendar for excel spreadsheets

I am trying to create a pop up calendar to use in my spreadsheets but I can't figure out how to do it. I have watched several youtube videos on it but they tell me I have to use the calendar tool in visual basic. I have tried multiple times to do just that but each time it tells me that I can't perform that operation. It is unregistered or something along those lines. When I try to register that tool it does not appear in the menu anywhere for me to select it. I can't even seem to add it for the same reason. How do I get this done. It really should not be this difficult. As a temporary fix I have created a table for the spreadsheet to use with dates so that a date can at least be selected but it would be far more user friendly if I could create a pop up calendar. Please help.
