I'm trying to set up a fairly complex Excel template for use in financial modelling. It has a dashboard comprising pivot tables linked to the Excel Data Model (using Excel 365).
I am experiencing what appears to be an intermittent problem where, when I save the workbook with a new name or copy the workbook, I am left with the pivot tables still linking to the Data Model of the previous version. In order to fix the problem, I have been deleting the dashboard and rebuilding it each time I create a new workbook. This is very time consuming.
1) What is causing this?
2) Is there a better way to link my dashboard charts to my data model?
3) Is there a way to point pivot charts to the data model in the current workbook, when they are linked to another workbook, without having to rebuild the entire dashboard.
