PASTE NOT WORKING FROM EXTERNAL SOURCE IF A COPIED CELL IS SELECTED

Copper Contributor

Hi,

since last week I have a issue with my updated Excel 365.

Basically if I copy a cell, then I move to another app (txt or Google Chrome, for example), I copy another string, then I go back to Excel and I try to paste, Excel just pastes the content of the previously selected cell, ignoring my last Copy action.

This behaviour stops if press ESC to deselect the cell (basically clearing the copy function from that cell).

This is pretty annoying, since I need to perform multiple actions on my keyboard when I want to copy and paste stuff from apps to Excel.

I'm not sure if this is a bug came with a new update or if I accidentally actived some hidden feature.

Could someone please help me?

Thank you

@Stadlerrr

Doesn't it work with Ctrl + C to copy and Ctrl + V to paste?

Here is an additional link:

Additional i recommend an update (OS & Office) & repair procedure, before you take any other steps.

Hope I was able to help with this info.

Hi @NikolinoDE ,

it looks like it was an issue between the excel's clipboard and Windows explorer.

Initially I found a workaround by stopping the service and restarting it.

Now, after the last windows updates, it seems resolved.

Anyway, there is a big thread going on about this:
