PASTE IN EXCEL MOVES FORMULA TO CELL BELOW THE ONE I PASTE IN

Hi

I have been working on a spreadsheet and copying the formula from one cell to the next.  When I now try to paste the formula in a cell when I press enter it puts the answer in the cell below the one I have pasted it in.  Ie if I paste it to cell B1 when I press enter it puts the figure in C1.  I am then able to move it back to B1

C1 is not down, it's to the right.

What are your settings here?

Sorry I meant if I am in cell B1 it copies to B2
