New here but not necessarily to Excel!
I'm trying to create a part number generator for coded parts.
each digit (or group of two or three digits) will represent one aspect of the part, e.g. whether it's a bracket, a fastener, or what type of finish it has.
So, I'm looking for a drop down menu with descriptors in it that generate a number (say 0-9 or 00-99) then another drop down descriptor that generates another number. These numbers (and more) concatenated together produce a nine digit part number. Ideally I'd like to be able to use it as a part number look up as well.
Any tips much appreciated
