I have been successfully using Excel 2016. However; when I tried to open documents downloaded today from MS TechCommunity, all failed to open with a comment that the files were corrupt. Surely that is not so.
What could be amiss?

SolutionHi@Southwood127 .
Check your trust Center settings and confirm you can safely open files downloaded from the internet.
Click on File >> Option >> Trust Center
While in Trust Center, click on Trust Center Settings
Then choose Protected View on the side bar, you may then need to uncheck "Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet"
Cheers
