New to Excel need help with Tolerance for Machining

Copper Contributor

Good day.

I'm looking for some assistance in adding tolerance to my inspection report worksheet. In a perfect world I would like to set it up so someone can easily change the tolerance of a specific  line item to what is on the print and the subsequent lines turn either green for in-spec and Red for out-of-spec.

Example would be a tolerance of +/- .001 for a specific part that is dimensioned at .1875. I'd like to see a green number from .1865-.1885 and if something say is .1864 it would turn red because of it being out of tolerance.

I can attach my current report if that helps.

Thank you

This is done via Conditional Formatting. Please see attached.

Great thank you! I appreciate you editing the doc as well. We are trying to do all our reports online rather than pencil and paper so we can keep easier records. This makes it look a little more professional.
