Multiple Selections

It is very annoying that Excel thinks I want to make multiple selections while I'm typing a formula or doing some other task.

Is there any way I can turn off the multiple selections ability that has been recently installed in Windows 10 Excel on my PC?

Can you please share the screenshot, it difficult to understand what are you referring ?
