I do a daily download from bloomberg that leaves me with information such as "13M" or "-13M", etc.. when i only want the "13".. i use the left/right function to drop the letter, but i can't get excel to view the "13" as a number. For example, if i have a "-13M", it will drop the "M", and leave me with a "-13", but when i use the "if" function to determine if the "-13" is greater or less than zero, it always shows as a positive number. how do i fix this?
