LABS.GENERATIVEAI - When will the function be able to access ChatGPT 4.0?

Copper Contributor

Been using the new LABS.GENERATIVEAI function from Excel Labs to send prompts to OpenAI ChatGPT with great success.  A tremendous leap forward.

However, I am now working with a text string that ChatGPT 3.5-turbo (the default Excel Labs model) cannot handle.  ChatGPT 4.0 handles the prompt correctly when I access it directly on the web.

When can we expect that the LABS.GENERATIVEAI function will be able to access ChatGPT 4.0?

I do not have real-time information about specific updates or release schedules for Excel Labs or the integration of newer versions of OpenAI models like ChatGPT 4.0.

However, OpenAI has been actively working on improving its models and services, and they may update the available models for integration in tools like Excel Labs in the future. OpenAI typically makes announcements about new model releases and integrations through their official channels, including their website, blog, and social media platforms.

To find out the most up-to-date information about when the LABS.GENERATIVEAI function in Excel Labs will be able to access ChatGPT 4.0, I recommend keeping an eye on OpenAI's official communications and announcements. You might also want to follow the Excel team's communications to stay informed about any updates related to this integration.

Remember that software updates can vary, and the availability of new models in specific tools or platforms might depend on factors such as compatibility, testing, and integration work.

That's better to discuss on GitHub directly with the team. Such request already exists gpt-4 not usable as model? · Issue #4 · microsoft/Excel-Labs (github.com), you may add your comment.
