Julian Date

Any tips for converting a date to Julian date format? Can't believe it's not one of the options in formats. They post multiple ways to do it using formulas and converting to number format but none of it works. Thanks!

To get the day of the year (assuming date in A1) 

=A1-DATE(YEAR(A1),1,0)
