Inquire classes any IFS as an Array formula?

Copper Contributor

Hello,

I have recently updated my vocabulatory of functions and I absolutely adore the new FILTER and XLOOKUP. As I was beautifying some formulas, I noticed that I have tons and tons of nested IF Statements so I started using IFS, because it is way neater.

Was running INQUIRE to see whether I got any errors and noticed something peculiar: Every formula with an IFS is classed as an ARRAY formula (even though I don't even use Ctrl+Shift+Enter anywhere...

Is that deliberate/true?
Thanks,
David

Can you show us one such flagged formula please?

This is because DA Excel stores any formula which is array-capable as an "array formula", for backward compatibility reasons. If I open your workbook in Excel 2010, the IFS formula is an array formula.
