To import stock prices into Excel on a Mac, you can use the "Stocks" data type feature. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do this:

  1. Open your Excel workbook on your Mac.
  2. Select the cell where you want to import the stock price data.
  3. Enter the stock symbol (e.g., AAPL for Apple Inc.) in the cell. Press Enter or Return.
  4. After you enter the stock symbol, you should see a small icon (e.g., a stock chart) appear next to the cell, indicating that Excel recognizes it as a stock symbol.
  5. Click on the small icon (stock chart) next to the cell with the stock symbol. This will open a dropdown menu.
  6. In the dropdown menu, select the type of data you want to import, such as "Stock Price," "Volume," or "Market Cap." You can select multiple data types if needed.
  7. Excel will retrieve the data and display it in the adjacent cells. For example, if you selected "Stock Price," the current stock price will appear in the cell next to the stock symbol.
  8. If you want more data for the same stock symbol, click the small icon again and select additional data types.

Note: The availability and accuracy of data may vary depending on your region and the version of Excel you're using. Make sure you have an active internet connection when attempting to retrieve stock data.

If you're still having issues getting the data you want, you can try alternative methods like using external data sources or add-ins specific to stock market data. There are various add-ins and online services that can provide you with stock market data to import into Excel.
