Please the little snip of an Excel spreadsheet. I am trying to modify the reference in cell C3 (see formula bar) such that I can COPY it across the columns and the reference will change from My Book 1.xlsx to My Book 2.xlsx and so on. I have not be able to modify the reference without generating an REF error or a message about using apostrophes correctly. I also need this to work when the source workbook is closed and I don't think INDIRECT will do that. I haven't been able to get INDIRECT to work anyway, even if the workbook is open. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
