IF function help?

Hi,

I have a table of data (14 cells long and a few columns deep). each cell on the top row of the table is either blank or contains an x or the letters mc. I'm looking for a formula that allows me to attribute a different word to each of the 14 cells and show this information in one cell elsewhere in the table.

Any help would be appreciated
