I don't know how to do this please help!!!!

I am trying to create a spreadsheet that will take a date entered into one column and after a period of time in the next column change that cell color to indicate passage of time. If anyone knows how to do this I would be eternally grateful to learn. Thank you

@lostcoz You will need to apply a conditional format

@adversi I have almost zero skill with Excel, when I follow that link I have tried this in a fashion. What I am trying for is when I have a new claim I type into one column the claim number the next column is the date that claim started, then I want the spreadsheet to automatically change the color of the 3rd column based on passage of time letting me know this claim is 3 days old, five days old, 10 days old and then 15 days old. I hope this makes sense

@lostcoz See attached a sample file on how conditional formatting works. Two most important steps is to (i) use the TODAY() function to get todays date to get total days passed from start claim date (ii) Apply the conditional formats in the same order. You can view them like this:
