I'd like to get a hypernlink when I paste a URL in excel.

I'd like to get a hypernlink when I paste a URL in excel.  I made sure Options > proofing > autocorrect options > Replace as you type: Internet and network paths with hyperlinks is enabled.

How can I fix this?

Any help much appreciated

The app is: Excel - Microsft 365.

Windows 10 20H2

Try the following:

Select the cell where you want to paste the URL.

Press F2 to edit the cell, or click in the Formula bar.

Press Ctrl+V to paste.

Press Tab or Enter.

wow, that works. Thanks!  Is there a way that Excel hyperlinks automatically without resorting to this?  I think Excel was doing this before?...

If you search your favorite search engine, you'll find the method that I suggested all over the place, so apparently it has always been this way.
