how to organize cells in alphabetic order (a>z)

ai have a column of excel full of german words , random disposed .....ai would like to organize this column in alphabetic order , but  ,any time a get to the end of process , excel tells me : you need to have all the cells in the same dimension..!!!!................so ai choosed a big dimension of the cell of the column .....for exemple 100 high ....all 100 high...........BUT AI GET NOTHING............. AND AI DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO...thanks

It sounds like you have merged cells in your data. If you select all, then go to Format > Cells (Ctrl+1), Alignment > uncheck Merge cells, you should be able to sort OK.
