How to insert symbol in excel browser version?

Copper Contributor

Hi guys. I am looking to do something fairly simple but I'm a novice when it comes to excel. I would like to figure out a way to insert a checkmark from the "wingdings" font when I type "y" into a column of cells. Is this possible with a simple formula?

WingDings is not available in the browser. I'd use an "x" in your standard font instead.

On the Home tab, in the Font section, click the Font drop-down list and select the Wingdings font. Create a check mark symbol by pressing and holding Alt , and then typing 0252 using the numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard. *website removed*

Are you sure Windings is available in Excel for web?

Copy and past just this check ( ✓ ) this one works with all fonts it just changes the check mark to the fonts style it will still be a check mark. You can even change the color and if its bold or not. this the only way I have been able to find that works till they update the fonts on the browser version of Excel.

@UelTusher you're the man! Thank you so much.

@jhobbs365  yes it is possible for you. just type your question on the google search..
