On the Insert tab of the ribbon, in the Symbols group, click Equation.

This will insert an empty equation and activate the Equation tab of the ribbon.

You'll find the overbar in the Accent drop-down and subscript in the Script drop-down.

If you don't want to use an equation, try the following:

Start with an empty cell.

Type a H.

On the Insert tab of the ribbon, in the Symbols group, click Symbol.

Make sure that (normal text) is selected in the Font drop-down.

Select 'Combining Diacritical Marks' from the Subset drop-down.

Select the overbar character and click Insert.

Finally, click Close (the Cancel button changes to Close once you have inserted a symbol).

i didn't get the actual result.

(Normal text) should be the very top item in the Font drop-down. Scroll the drop-down list all the way up.
