I am having trouble getting cells to multiply

Perhaps you could:

1. Show us the formula(s)

2. Show us the values in referenced cells (show 15 decimal places or more)

3. Tell us what is wrong with the result, if it is not "obvious" (like #VALUE)

And re #VALUE, it might help us help you if you enter formulas of the form =ISTEXT(A1) and =ISNUMBER(--A1) and tell us the results, where A1 represents each of the referenced cells.
