@ACFORD The question asked by @Hans Vogelaar is crucial. It's probably not possible--if this is what you had in mind--for the drop down itself to be simply a set of colors.
BUT, if your reals task or goal is to select a color (by name) and then, for example, have some corresponding cells displayed in that color for that row, THAT is something that can be accomplished.
