How can I remove a column of check boxes in Excel 2016

A while ago I created a column in Excel 2016 with check boxes.  I want to delete that column of check boxes but the check boxes won't go away.  How can I delete all those checked boxes?

As variant F5->Special->Objects->Delete if only you don't have another objects in the sheet which you don't like to delete.

'Find and Select' on the home tab also has a number of options for selecting objects.  It includes a selection pane that allows shapes to be hidden/made visible or their z-order adjusted, and a cursor setting that allows multiple objects to be selected by dragging the mouse.
