Here's a real Conditional Formating challenge

Copper Contributor

This is a simplified version of what I really need, but is there a way to get A1 to get its cell format from a "list"?

Ex:

B1 is red and has "goodbye" in it.

B2 is blue and has "hello" in it.

I'd like A1 to turn blue if I write "hello" in it.

How do I get A1 to change its cell format to match the cell format of the equivalent value in B:B. There are more than 45 choices so I'm looking for a way to do this without having to enter 45+ different conditions in each cells.

Hope someone is up for the challenge and that this can actually be done in some way!

@Velkyn , in general one color - one rule. It's not necessary to define it for each cell separately , but if would like to have 45 colors you have to define 45 rules.
