Help with Frequency formula that's dependant on a date

Hello,

Could someone with more formula knowledge than myslef help me with the following please?

I'm using the formula {=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(ERRORS!D5:D1001<>"", MATCH(ERRORS!D5:D1001,ERRORS!D5:D1001,0)),ROW(ERRORS!D5:D1001)-ROW(ERRORS!D5)+1),1))} to count how many unique references I have in a table which works great. Now I need to be able to only count the ones that have dates in the table that match the date in a separate dropdown box.

Does anyone know how to incorporate this into my above formula?

Could you attach a small sample workbook without sensitive/proprietary information that illustrates the problem?
