Good News: Awesome new functions coming to Excel

Silver Contributor

Hi all,

A new set of functions debuted in the last Insider version of Excel:

  • SORT & SORTBY
  • UNIQUE
  • SEQUENCE & RANDARRAY
  • FILTER

They are amazing and useful and can be used to solve many problems!

I think that all of them will be included in the next release of Excel (Excel 2019).

Please watch these videos to take a look at them:

I'm thrilled. :)

Dynamic lists with just one formula.

I have Office 365 and the =SORTBY() function doesn't seem to be available. Does anyone know how to fix this??

You need to be Insider Fast

Hi @MikeB123,

This function is part of the several functions are known as (Spilled array functions) and they are part of the upcoming feature (Dynamic arrays).

But this feature is still in beta and is only available to a portion of Office Insiders.

For more info, please check out this link.

This feature is expected to be available to Office 365 users in the next few months.

Haytham

To my knowledge it shall be available now for all Office Insiders, not only to the part of them.

I'm not sure, but this is described in the support article that I mentioned in the previous reply.

How do I become a "Insider Fast" ?

Nevermind. I found it. Thanks

You're welcome!

If you want to join the Office Insider program, check out this link.

And choose the Insider level, not Monthly Channel (Targeted).

Best Regards

You need the "Insider" version of 365. Hopefully, it will be generally available to everyone before Q2
