formula goes blank when trying to change it

Copper Contributor

When I try to add or remove something to a formula in Excel - web version, the current formula gets erased. I can undo the change and it will reappear. This just recently started several weeks ago. I need to modify the sheet weekly by making a slight change to 1 or 2 cells, but it will not let me do it now. Why?

Thank you

Tom

When I double click the cell to make a change the entire formula gets erased. Why?

are you possible trying to click on a "formula" that is in a spill range? For example if you have a formula like:
=A1:A100+B1:B100
it will fill down 100 cells and all those cells may look like they have that formula in it but it will actually be gray and if you click on it the cell will be blank. You have to go to the top (left) most cell and find the actual formula.
