Formula Creation Help

Copper Contributor

Hello everyone,

I am relatively new to Excel formulas and am still learning,

-I was hoping to get some help creating a formula for the sheet attached.

-I want to break up the SKU in column "A" and transfer each part of the SKU into columns "B-F". I am having trouble figuring out how to take parts of the SKU based on the data in between the "Hyphens"

-How do you set up the formula to specifically pull from in between the Hyphens.

-The Color column should come from a reference of the Color Abbreviations sheet tab.

Thank you to anyone that can help. It would be very much appreciated.

(1) To split the data refer this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smmFI8WGDDs
(2) For color coding you can use Vlookup function: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=vlookup+exceljet

alternatively, you can use 'Left' + 'Find', 'Mid' + 'Find', and 'Right' + 'Find'.

Note: I have not created these videos.

Solution

@T-Meyers Here you go. See attached. just drag the formulas.

You can learn it from my website Mid, Left, Right formulas, Search, how this works.

Though attached solution will work. Just copy and paste the formula. Please do not change the column numbers
