I am trying to text format columns and save as a CSV.  Every time I exit the saved file seemingly formatted as text, when I reopen, it is saved as "General" formatting and that makes my file error in my upload?  Suggestions?

When you reopen, are you reopening the CSV file? Unless I'm mistaken, CSV files don't retain Excel specific formatting instructions. (If I understood the sequence you're describing). The whole point of CSV is that they're basic "comma separated values" -- full stop. Nothing fancy.

Why are you saving as CSV? Is that somehow essential?

@mathetes CSV is the import requirement. The odd thing is, sometimes I can get the import to work and sometimes not. other than the formatting issue, I have been unable to identify why it works sometimes and other times not?
