FORMATTING CURRENCY IN TWO DIFFERENT CELLS

Copper Contributor

IF YOU HAVE CELL A-1 AND IT CONTAINS A CURRENCY NUMBER WITH A FIVE DIGIT FORMAT AND IN CELL C-4 YOU HAVE THE FORMULA =A-1. WILL THAT FORMAT IN C-4 DISPLAY THE SAME FIVE DIGIT  FORMAT THAT'S IN CELL A-1?

Not necessarily. Cell C4 can have a different number format than cell A1.

The formula =A1 only copies the value of cell A1, not its format.

If I understood your question correctly, the answer is Yes.

e.g. If you have a formula =A1 in the cell C4, the cell C4 will have the value of cell A1 and will inherit the number formatting of the referenced cell A1 as well.

Did you try it on your end? What did you get then?
