I'm running Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 on a Windows 10 with plenty of resources.
I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue and more importantly, found a solution :)
So, some time in the recent past, something changed on my system that prevents files being opened as normal. I usually double-click on a file to open it, but now this action only opens Excel, but not opening the file. However, with Excel now open, when I double-click again, it DOES open the file. I get the same results using right-click, Open.
Double-clicking on a document file opens the file first time using Word.
I get the feeling that this was caused by using an application called Compass (a Certiport Application). I reckon that the problem arose after using this application.
So, could you let me know if this is something that you have come across in the past and of course, if you saw a solution - your input would be grately appreciated.
