Feature Request: Two-Way Syncing for Tables

Copper Contributor

I'm requesting a feature for Excel that allows two-way syncing between a master table and its linked tables, or "views" of a table. Any changes made in any table should automatically reflect in all other connected tables or "views" of the master table. This would mimic the functionality of a relational database.

This is especially useful in scenarios like a school system where everyone is using the basics of Excel, and more complex solutions like Macros or PowerApps are out of the question. In such cases, updates to student information need to be consistent across different views.

For instance, if a teacher updates the spelling of a student's name on a linked table or a "view" of the master table, that change should automatically reflect in the master table and any other linked tables. Similarly, if a contact number is added in a linked table, it should populate in the master table and any other "view" of the master table as well.

This feature would be particularly beneficial for teachers or administrators who need to see or have access to only certain filters or columns of the master table.

There are two places where you can submit a request to Microsoft's Excel team:

  1. Start Excel and select File > Feedback, then click 'Send a Suggestion'.
  2. Go to the website Excel Feedback Portal and click 'Send Feedback'.
