I am not able to work in my excel. The ribbon is gray for most options. I do not believe it is protected, but that option is gray too.

You are probably in Page Layout mode and scrolled far away.

a) You can switch to normal mode

(at the bottom right next to the% bar you will find 3 small windows / squares, the first from the left).

b) Move the lower and upper sidebars as necessary to get to the top of the cells.

So that column A can be seen at the top left.

If this does not help, please inform us to go to the next suggested solution.

Nope, that did not help. I can see what I have inputted into excel, but I can not change anything. Like I said, the groupings in the ribbon are gray and so I cannot do anything. Can't enter more data, can't select anything from ribbon or key anywhere.

Is the PowerQuery Editor Open? If yes, thats the reason. Hover over the excel Icon with your mouse to check which Excel-Windows are open.

... Excel version and operating system?

File (without sensitive data) would be beneficial if present in the message.

Does the problem only occur in this file?
