Using Excel Home & Student 2016 in Windows 10

I have a column of daily high/low temperatures for various cities in this format:

89/67

105/56

90/45

30/-5

I want to calculate the average high and low temps for a given month (28 to 31 entries each), ideally ending in the same high/low format, but separate cells will do. My list goes back years, but I can break it into months.

@bobrMI Well, you need to split the high/low column into two. For, instance, by using Text-to-columns on the Data ribbon. Then you could use a Pivot table to average the temperatures, but it would be helpful if you could upload a file with a couple of months of your real data, in stead of just some high/low values.

Thank you. This was the first time I used the data ribbon. I'm a novice with Excel. And I got it to work on the third try! I will use this if necessary.

But I was hoping it was just a matter of averaging the numbers before the / and then averaging the numbers after the /. I'd settle for summing the numbers. I can get the averages from that.
