I am trying to insert a table.  No matter which cell I click in the area I want to convert to table it adds a new row on top and completely disregards my header even if I check that I have headers.

With your permission, if I can recommend you, add a file (without sensitive data) to your project.

Explain your plans in relation to this file. So you can get a solution that is tailored to your needs much faster.

At the same time, it is much easier for someone who wants to help to understand the subject.

A win-win situation for everyone.

Please no Picture, even if it is said that a picture can say a thousand words, it is certainly not in the case of Excel, on the contrary in some cases.

* Knowing the Excel version and operating system would also be an advantage.

Thank you for your understanding and patience

With inserting the table (Ctrl+T, but you may use ribbon menu) this window shall appear

Flag My table has headers is automatically checked if top row has another font case compare to rows, or that's text and other rows are numbers, etc. Otherwise you have to check it manually.

According to his statement, he has already clicked on it, without any result.
That's why I ask for a file.
