Excel Spell check is not working Office 365

Copper Contributor

Hi All,

I'm trying to spell-check Excel documents that I create, but every time I click on the icon to do the spell-check it tells me that all is good. I purposely misspelled a word to see if it would catch it, but it still tells me that all is good. I read DianeDennis' discussion from 2022 but sounds like she couldn't get a real answer or fix for the problem.  In the previous version of Excel, the spell check worked just fine.  So, I'm not sure what the problem is.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

Perhaps Microsoft/Excel/Word have decided to go along with the kind of thinking my granddaughter exhibits when she tells me I'm being elitist by correcting spelling and, especially, grammar.

:cryingwithlaughter:I love this response! You just made my day!!

I'd check settings in second part (proofing) of File->Options->Languages. Perhaps to try uninstall and install again.

@SergeiBaklan I appreciate you sending me to the 'options' section.  I actually found the problem there!  For the work I do, everything I type is capitalized.  The boxed was checked that says to skip all words that are capitalized.  I unchecked that and it fixed the problem!  Thank you so much!  Now I know where to look, if I have any other issues.
