Excel saving to PDF - Margins

Brass Contributor

Hi,

I am having issues when trying to save my excel to pdf (the excelcontains a lot of text).

When I open the pdf and review it compared to the excel sheet, it seems the margins have changed, forcing some text to go on to another row and therefore being cut off in the pdf.

Can someone list all of the places I will need to go please

In advance, please update the Acrobat Reader,

if possible Office and Windows at the same time to be on the safe side.

method:
PDF file opens, and then go to print

then there is the setting "adjust the page size" in the lower middle left.
The default setting for me was "Reduce to print area", which caused the problem in question.
The setting "none" solves the problem and everything is as in Word.

I would be happy to know if I could help.

Hi Nikolino, many thanks for replying. The application I am using is excel and not word though.

@Robert1290

Please replace the word, Word with Excel, and it will be the same.

Did you go through the steps and try it out?

Hi Nikolino.
That doesn't work for me unfortunately. To get to the pdf I have had to save as pdf from excel first.

After converted, the damage is already done
The settings should be made in the PDF, not in Excel. That's how I described it before.
Anyway a PDF and Excel file with the problem inserted would be an advantage.
With the settings in the PDF it should actually work.
Knowing your Excel version, operating system and Acrobat Reader version could contribute very well to the solution.

Thank you for your understanding and patience

Hi Nikolino.

This is not working for me. When I open the pdf file and go to print it is too late, as I am using excel and then converting to pdf, it is at that stage that I need it to convert better.

The last thing I can give you as information is to update Office and update Acrobat Reader.

  1. Update Office with Microsoft Update
  2. Repair an Office application
  3. Install updates for Acrobat and Reader

Perform updates and repairs as described in the links and try again.

Thank you for your patience and time.
