Excel Problem

Copper Contributor

I'm working with macOS Big Sur 11.3.1 using Excel for Mac version 16.49.  I opened "View, Headers and Footers" to change a page number on the document, and now I cannot get out of Headers & Footers.  It shows in the dropdown box under "view" that I am not in Headers & Footers, but actually I'm locked into that view.  I've tried pressing ESC, closing and reopening the document, asking for help on Excel help--about everything I could think of, but I've been locked out for 12 hours.  I do not want to lose the 13 pages of data I've typed into the document.  Please offer help.

@2021Donna_P Same configuration as yours. Going the "Headers and Footers..." via the View menu takes you to "Page Layout" view, indicated in the bottom right hand corner of the Excel window.

The icon in the middle is greyed. Click on the icon to the left to go back to "Normal" view.
