Excel on Mac

Copper Contributor

I'm trying to change DOB to 8 numbers on my excel sheet without having to go add in all the leading zeros.   I have my cells in 'text' format (I even tried it with CSV file)  Currently it's like 9122015 and I need 09122015.   I need it in the format mmddyyyy.    I have tried Format-cells-custom and put in mmddyyy in the 'type' but it just changes my numbers to ########.   If I try to widen the column it just keeps repeating ########.

This is my version on excel and my OS.

My co-workers have an earlier version of Excel and it works on their computer.

Any help is appreciated.

@gaturner1953 Try using a custom format 00000000. That is, eight zeros. That will change all your DOB numbers to what's in the picture below:

Is that what you need?
