Excel O365 Not Syncing when Opened in Full Version of excel

Using O365 and Office full programs on a MAC. All software up to date. All working fine until today. Just experiencing problems opening correct up to date versions of excel documents when in O365 I select Open in Desktop app.

 

I have a document called TEAMS - Open in app, and I do not get the latest version as in the O365 version but an older version. See attachments Original & Open in full version of app.

 

So to try and get around this I did the following

 

  1. Created a new file in One drive called VTD Stats
  2. Copied one sheet from TEAMS to VTD Stats
  3. Tried Open in Desktop App. This time I get the error code attached

Contacted Microsoft Support. Unable to resolve.
