Excel Formula

Brass Contributor

Hi

I have calculation wherein 0.31111is the cumulative of A/B. Assuming that I have only access to data in the row below B and I do not have access to data in row A and B,, how do I develop the Excel function to arrive to 0.31111.

That is not possible unless the values in B3:D3 are identical.

It's simple just drag the formula in cell B4 till E4, and you get the expected value 0.311111, check the attached sheet!!

Hi Rajesh, Your solution of dragging B4 to E4 means it copies the formula of E4=E2/E3. I mentioned earlier that I cannot use Rows A and B which are rows 2 and 3.
I can only use 0.15, 0.5 and 0.4 to get 0.31111
Unless you will not use the values from B2:E4 the how would you expect the magical value 0.311111!! Even builtin command Goal seek need the value to adjust, if you use value from Row 4,, B4 to E4,,, remember values headed by A & B in Range B2:E4 are the source value,,,, and ultimately the EXCEL needs vakue to be manipulated / calculated !!!
I merely asked whether it is possible. Please take your anger issues elsewhere.
It's like ignoring the basics of data handling using the Excel,,,, and my sincere efforts are to elaborate that how to achieve,,, and nothing,, !!
