Excel Formatting Width

Does anyone know how to format merged cells without affecting the width of the other unmerged cells?

The document attached has the merged cells highlighted in grey - I need them to stay that width. However, the Table below needs to have different cell widths than what the merged cells do.

Can someone help me?

Thank you! :)

In Excel every column has one width value effecting all the cells within it. So you can not apply different widths to different cells in the same column. What you can do is:

1. Adjust the cell widths according to the below table. And re arrange the table on the top to fit as closely as their original width

2. you can use textboxes to create a similar effect for the upper table.

3. you can use form controls to create upper table.
