Excel Formatting Options

Is there a way to reduce the number of Number formatting options displayed in Excel?

For example, Currencies.  There are dozens of them and I only ever need to use about 6 options.  I would like to be able to reduce the list so I am not constantly scrolling through, looking for the one I want.

Similarly, Dates.  Loads of options, but I only need one of them.

I suspect the answer is going to be "No", but maybe someone has found a way!!

If you're talking about the Format Cells dialog and the formats which show up when you choose a category on the left, then no, you can't alter those items which show on the right. You can, however, remove any custom formats you've added.

As workaround you may create few custom cell styles (uncheck all options except Number)

and make them available to all new workbooks as explained here Save cell styles to use in all new workbooks
