Excel for Mac 2016 hover over comments not working

In excel for Mac 2016, when I hover my mouse over an excel comment flag the comment does not appear. I have to "show comment" and then "hide comment" to see any comment. This issue arose about 2 months ago. It is extremely frustrating to the point I may have to buy a Windows computer and version of excel, as I use Excel all day long. 

I have already checked the appropriate box in settings called "indicators only, and comments on rollover".  It is not a settings issue. It just does not work. 

Is there a fix coming from Microsoft for this?

This problem has been around for months and seems to be totally ignored by Microsoft.

I mistakenly opted for the beta version of updates and the threaded comments are a total nightmare!! Apparently this will be included in all updates sometime in the future!!! Please don't do it!!

NONE of my comments appear on rollover, even though the setting is selected. Every now and then it will work for a day/hour/minute......then off again.

Is there someone out there to actually talk to?
