Excel columns

Copper Contributor

This may be a dumb question but columns used to be labelled with letters and I could create formulae easily.  Now my columns appear as numbers and don't know how to refer to particular cells.  For example if I want to add the cell in the first column and first row to the cell in the first column and second row I used to write = A1+A2 or =$a$1+$a$2.  What do you do now columns are relabelled with letters?  Am not sure how to write formulae now columns are also labelled with numbers.

@Matt_Benge That's called "R1C1 referencing style". You can switch it back to what you are used to in Options.

You need to switch back to Row Column Ref Style R1C1 by ALT T O F > Working with formulas

i think @Riny_van_Eekelen had said all already
